"Expectation problems dressed up as billing problems" travels well beyond

subscriptions.

A good part of the churn and returns I see starts one step earlier, on a product

page written by the manufacturer. The customer buys a description nobody in the

business has checked against what actually ships, so the mismatch is built in

before the first delivery.

If 50 to 70% are gone before month two, some of that was decided on the page they

bought from, not in the cancel flow.
